Monsters, Inc. review

Posted : 9 years ago on 2 January 2010 04:17 (A review of Monsters, Inc.)

Pixar never let anyone down and this is one of their classics. A very well made movie with little messages through the movie and with a plot that has some memorable scenes. Besides telling a totally different story for what animations are usted to it, they still inovate and go out of their safety zone. When you think something might happen, it doesn't.

It took me a very long time to watch this movie, but now I knew why so many people loved it. All the caracters are so easy to adore, and to remember. Movies like these are rare to make.

If I have a milkshake and you have a milkshake

Posted : 9 years ago on 1 January 2010 02:52 (A review of There Will Be Blood (2007))

After hearing so much about this movie I decided to finish my 2009 list with it. I can even begin to describe how I feel after watching. It's a movie so strong, and you can relate to the fact that he is a human being full of good and bad things inside of it. It's a complicated, unique movie that the only thing I can say it: watch it. You won't regret. It's one of the most amazing and epic movies I've seen in a very long time. Full of quotes you won't forget, just like a lot of scenes.

Probably one of my top 5 this year, or even top 3. Amazing. Wonderful. A master piece.

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh review

Posted : 9 years ago on 30 December 2009 03:38 (A review of The Mysteries of Pittsburgh)

The only reason I watched was Peter Sarsgaard, Mena Suvari and Nick Nolte and was the only reason worth spending time at this movie. Most of the characters aren't half as interesting as they look like in the first. After the first half hour you just get bored. The movie has a interesting idea even though is not original at all. Probably the book is much better than the movie, like always, and interesting. Not only the direction is weak but some of the actors did a pretty 'meh' job. Maybe with a lot of changes it would turn to be a good movie..

Where is the pants?

Posted : 9 years ago on 30 December 2009 03:18 (A review of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008))

I was a big fan of the first movie which obsviously can't compare considering I was much younger when I watched it. I was excited for the second one. The movie is good. It's quite real like the first one, it shows their friendship but being older they are far from each other even more. I could related with a lot of situations and it was a good rhythm, until the last 20 minutes when everything decides to change. Decisions that aren't real at all happens, situations and the movies changes like it was a new one. You think you are watching another different plot. It could have ended sooner and than it would have been a wonderful teen movie.

All the beautiful scenes aren't that worth it.

Posted : 9 years ago on 29 December 2009 01:03 (A review of Terminator Salvation)

When you talk about action movies the action scenes must be breahtaking. It does it's part and has a lot of beautiful people. Actually the movie is all beautiful in his own way but I think the plot lacked a lot of informations. Things happened without any explanation like we already knew or we just got so confused. They might use this if they had a sequel but still, I think it could had a little bit more of substance.

In general for the type of movie he is trying to follow it is a good one but when it comes to the trilogy that I am a fan since I was a little girl, meh.. Even with all the actors it's only better than the third movie. I was expecting more.

The worse dog in the world.

Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 25 December 2009 07:02 (A review of Marley & Me (2008))

It took me a lot of time to watch this movie and I remember not being interested because I never had a dog so why would I even watch it? Today I got interested and I spend two hours loving Marley, at least the first two. Even for someone who never had a dog this movie is so beautiful, touching and it's impossible not to cry. Marley has personality and is so unique that you can relate it with any other animal, or even person. Those types of relationships are rare these days what makes things even prettier.

The movie is really well made. I liked the performance from most of the actors especially Jennifer Aniston that should continue doing drama. She's great. I never tought I could relate to a movie, that obsviously is made for people who had the same passion, but I did and it amazed me.

"I see you"

Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 24 December 2009 05:57 (A review of Avatar)

Watching this movie for me from the beggining was an 3D experience and that's it. Until I enter the room.. The 3 hours I spend there were very different from I was expecting and hearing. People were saying it was cliche, hard to follow, boring, a lot of bad experiences but after the first 30 minutes the travelling to this new world was a very interesting experiencing. James Cameron knows how to do big movies, this is definitely one of his things, and so many things happened on these 3 hours. Just seeing this effects were amazing. I was shocked with so many beautiful and real stuff, the colors, the texture, the people. It was a different experience for me than any other movie.

The plot it is kinda obvious but it's still really pretty. It has a lot of flaws but what movie doesn't? It was worth it for me seeing one of the most beautiful things I ever saw in my whole life.

Back to the classics.

Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 21 December 2009 09:10 (A review of The Princess and the Frog (2009))

It's been years since Disney made a classic and cute movie. All my childhood was based on Disney movies so I couldn't wait to be introduced to the new princess. Being black or white I was expecting something that would made me feel nostalgic & I got it. I watched feeling the way I felt the first time I saw Aladdin, Snow White, The Beauty and The Beast and other classics. It's very different from all the other movies and it's classic but at the same time has a modern touch. I feel amused like I haven't felt in a very long time.

Jennifer's Body (2009) review

Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 4 December 2009 01:42 (A review of Jennifer's Body (2009))

From the beginning the new scrip of Diablo Cody was based on the trash b movies and it was supposed to be stupid, and it did worked. The beginning till the end the movie is just full of cliches, sometimes so ridiculous you can't even believe that is happening but with some good quotes. I liked because I wasn't expecting nothing besides this. Actually it made me laugh a lot. My main reason to watch was Amanda's character that is actually very sweet. At least Amanda can act. You know those movies you watch tons and tons of times because it just makes you kill time, sucks but you actually enjoy it?

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) review

Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 3 December 2009 08:19 (A review of The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009))

For those who are fans or for those who aren't everyone has the same tought about this story: boring. The movie couldn't be different. WIth the book sucking it was hard for the movie be anything better. In terms of direction it was definitely superior. A lot of flaws from the first movie were corrected on this one and the soundtrack it was amazing. I don't know how they got so many amazing artists. Anyway, the movie is basically Jacob without shirt, Bella sad and no Edward. Not only the fans but those who watched only for curiosity left disappointed and I'm sure on this group.
